The Deputy General Secretary in Charge of Operations of the National Democratic Congress, Mustapha Gbande has said the next NDC government will sack all Chinese illegal miners to enable Ghanaians to continue their work.
In a viral video on X, the user questioned You’re in Accra shouting #StopGalamseyNow for NDC, NDC is in the bush shouting ‘more Galamsey’… Who’s fooling who?”
On a Campaign tour, speaking to some residents in the video, Mustapha Gbande revealed that the NPP brought the Chinese people to mine on the river bodies in Ghana.
He said, “NPP people are in government, and they brought Chinese people to our river bodies, and they are destroying our water, so if someone says Ghanaians are destroying the water they are telling lies”.
“Do you remember Dr. Bawumia went to China and borrowed money, when they came to power, the Chinese, and came along with the changfan machine to mine in our rivers?” he boldly claimed.
He called on the residents to vote for John Mahama saying, “On December 7 if you vote for John Mahama and he wins the election the work you will go on and do it, If NDC comes we will sack all the Chinese, so you people will get some of the work to do”.
Meanwhile, Ghanaians have been calling on the government to impose an urgent ban on mining activities.
