Majority Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has refuted claims made by Minority Chief Whip and Adaklu MP, Governs Kwame Agbodza, that he was secretly smuggled into Parliament on the morning of October 22, violating official protocols.
Agbodza took to Facebook to allege that Annoh-Dompreh gained unauthorized access to the Chamber before the official opening time, despite a circular stating that doors would open at 8:00 am.
He accused Parliament’s security personnel of colluding with Annoh-Dompreh, raising concerns about the integrity of the parliamentary process and the potential for increased tension ahead of the 10:00 am proceedings.
In response, Annoh-Dompreh dismissed the allegations, stating, “For anybody to say that I connived is a wild thing that anybody can imagine.”
He explained that he arrived early as part of his duties and sought permission from security personnel to enter. “I asked them, is the place accessible? Can I enter? And they answered in the affirmative,” he clarified.
Annoh-Dompreh emphasized that his early arrival is a regular practice to ensure parliamentary operations run smoothly.
