Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okodzeto Ablakwa has named one constituency in the Ashanti Region as an empire of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, this empire will expand to reach more parts of the region.
The Ashanti Region is regarded as a vote bank of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as most indigenes of the region align with the party, and have roots tracing deep down to the NPP.
It is therefore a surprise to have the NDC make inroads in the region, which has long been established as a stronghold of the opposition.
The Asawase Constituency, is the constituency regarded as the NDC empire in the Ashanti region and Okudzeto Ablakwa made this known in an X post.
According to him, Asawase deeply appreciate the impressive development projects H.E. John Mahama and Hon. Muntaka Mubarak delivered in their constituency.
He further dubbed MP for the constituency, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka as an institution Ghana’s Parliament cannot afford to lose.
Okudzeto Ablakwa declared John Mahama and a majority of NDC MPs victorious in the December 7, 2024 polls, adding “as we reset Ghana and create concrete opportunities for all Ghanaians.”
Ashanti Region’s Asawase Constituency is determined to become a much bigger NDC empire.
