Ghana is well known for being a booming hub of tourism in the world. Because of the country being a tourist destination, Ghana has seen immense infrastructural development in the hospitality space.

It is however worth knowing that the country has seen its fair share of hotels in the country. Today we will talk about the history of hotels in  Ghana, highlighting on the first ever hotel to have been constructed in Ghana.

The Sea View Hotel, built in 1870s in Jamestown, Accra in the 20th century. Being the first hotel to have been built in then Gold Coast, it was the home for many colonial dignitaries and governors.
