Environmental groups demand revocation of all mining licenses granted in forest reserves

Environmental advocacy group, Eco-Conscious Citizens has reiterated the need for government to revoke all licenses granted for manning in forest reserves and globally significant biodiversity areas.

The demands come after three NDC Members of Parliament submitted a private members bill seeking to repeal section 3(2) of the Environmental Protection Regulations (L.I 2462) that grants the President authority to issue mining leases for exploration within forest reserves in Ghana.
