A video has emerged online of some 20 galamseyers arrested with the Chinese galamseyers sitting comfortably while the indigen Ghanaians were spotted kneeling.
The illegal miners made up of eighteen Ghanaians and two Chinese were arrested by the youth on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
They were arrested at New Abirem in the Eastern Region illegally operating around the Roman missionary by the youth in the area.
In a video shared on X, some of the eighteen illegal miners were seen kneeling with some sitting on the floor, while the two Chinese galamseyers were seated comfortably on a plastic chair.
Social media users on X have expressed disappointment about the development, some of their comments read:
