Member of Parliament for Agona West Cynthia Morrison has accused the New Patriotic Party of orchestrating a recent court action aimed at disqualify her from the parliamentary race in the constituency.

The court ordered that Cynthia Morrison refrain from any actions regarding the nomination process for the position of Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency.

The decision comes at a crucial time, with the 2024 general elections fast approaching, creating significant uncertainty about her political future in the constituency.

Having successfully contested and won the seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016 and 2020, she lost the primary in 2024, which triggered her decision to run as an independent candidate.

However speaking for the first time after the law suit Cynthia Morrison claims the NPP is displeased with her decision to run as an independent and is attempting to frustrate her campaign efforts.
