Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has claimed that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has fathered 13 children at the age of 37. Speaking on NET 2 TV on June 27, 2018, Agyapong praised Anas for his large family, comparing it to his own and jokingly acknowledging that Anas was “doing well” in that regard.
Agyapong has been vocally critical of Anas, especially following the release of the investigative documentary “Number 12,” which exposed corruption in Ghanaian football. Agyapong has accused Anas of unethical journalism, arguing that his approach is more about setting people up rather than uncovering the truth. He suggested that in other parts of the world, Anas’s methods could have led to dangerous consequences for him.
In response to the “Number 12” exposé, Agyapong has vowed to reveal what he describes as the “dubious” practices of Anas in a counter-documentary titled “Who Watches The Watchman.” The film was set to premiere on the same day at the forecourt of Oman FM in Madina, Accra. According to Agyapong, the documentary aims to prove that Anas, the journalist behind the high-profile investigation into the Ghana Football Association, is himself corrupt.
