The lead Convener of the Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has revealed that President Akufo-Addo was his idol growing up.
Oliver Vormawor has been talking to the media after he was released on bail.
According to Oliver Vormawor, a young boy growing up in 1996, Akufo-Addo was his idol and cried when he lost the NPP primaries.
Speaking in an interview with Bola Ray on Accra-based Starr FM, Oliver is quoted as saying, “In 1996, as a young boy, President Akufo-Addo was my idol. When he lost the primaries, I cried”.
Oliver Baker-Vormawor has become the face of many protests in the country after his lead role in the Fix the Country Movement and Democracy Hub which has been putting pressure on the NPP government to prioritize the needs of the people.
Oliver Barker-Vormawor was granted bail on October 16, 2024, after several failed attempts after he was arrested together with some fifty members of Democracy Hub.
He was finally released from police custody this week.
