His comment comes after the NPP parliamentary candidate Dr. John Eleblu, accused him of spending funds donated to the constituency.

Speaking on TV3’s Communities Manifesto, in the Volta Region Mr Ablakwa emphasized that while North Tongu may be the epicenter of the crisis, the spillage has affected many constituencies.

He stated his efforts in ensuring transparency and accountability in managing donations by establishing an independent body called the Elders Accountability Council.

This council, chaired by one of the traditional council including representatives from all six traditional areas within the constituency.

“I am the only member of Parliament who set up this independent body,” Ablakwa stated.

“All donations received have gone into an account administered by this council. I am not even a signatory to this account; I do not run it. I prioritize accountability.”

“They are likely the only Ghanaians who have not seen the full report from the Accountability Elders Council. Every donation that came to North Tongu has been published.”

Ablakwa called on NPP parliamentary candidate Dr. John Eleblu to review his social media channels, where he claims to have shared details of all donations received.

“Full disclosure is my mantra. Everyone has seen it,” he asserted.
