Akua Donkor, the presidential candidate for the Ghana Freedom Party, has lauded, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, and her team for their “exceptional” work.
Donkor’s comments come at a time when various political parties, civil society organizations, and the public have expressed growing concerns about the accuracy of the voters’ roll ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, October 1, Donkor slammed “other political parties” for what she described as attempts to frustrate the efforts of the EC and its chairperson.
She emphasized the importance of supporting the commission in its mandate to provide credible and accurate electoral information.
During the meeting, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa urged her colleagues to refrain from undermining the commission’s work, stating that the EC is committed to presenting accurate data for the upcoming elections.
