Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has expressed regret for advocating for the return of coach Otto Addo as the team’s head coach.

The Black Stars legend says, he was positive Otto Addo would have turned things around after the Black Stars’ abysmal performance at the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers under Chris Hughton.

However, after Ghana’s possible elimination from the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers following the defeat to Sudan, Agyemang-Badu has said that the job is beyond Otto Addo.

“I apologize [as I was part] of those who advocated for the second coming of coach Otto Addo. If you go into my interviews, I gave him massive support but I’m sorry”.

“It seems the task is beyond him,” Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu said on Onua TV after the 2-0 defeat to Sudan.
