Afua Asantewaa, known for her previous attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon, has announced plans to host another sing-a-thon in Kumasi this December.
In December 2023, she captured national attention with her effort to surpass current record holder, Sunil Waghmare.
Despite her five-day attempt, Afua Asantewaa was disqualified from the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon.
Speaking on a Kumasi based radio station the tourism ambassador announced that she has received approval from Guinness World Records to host another sing-a-thon in Kumasi.
“I can tell you on your show that, God willing in December, I will be hosting another singathon but this time I’m planning to do it in Kumasi”.
“Myself and the team are doing a feasibility study to appreciate which part of the city will best suit the attempt. This will allow those in this enclave to make a feel of the show and also deepen my ambassadorial role. The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t be a barrier to my quest of becoming a Guinness World record holder” she said.
Afua Asantewaa announced that a press conference will be held to officially launch the sing-a-thon.
