In a shocking turn of events, the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the Ashanti Region has shifted allegiance from the party.
In a poll conducted on Kumasi based Nhyira FM, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) managed to beat the NPP by polling 51.7percent of votes cast.
Leading up to the December 7, 2024 Presidential elections, Nhyira FM conducted a poll amongst 58 women on who they would vote for in the elections.
Out of the 58 women, 2 voted for Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party, representing 3.4 percent of votes cast. 5 of them voted for Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar) of the New Force, and another voted for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP, with both candidates each polling 8.6percent of the votes cast. Alan Kyerematen of the Movement for Change managed to get 16 votes, representing 27.5percent and John Dramani Mahama of the NDC polling 30 votes, representing 51.7 percent of total votes.
