One of the protesters who spoke to the media in cuffs and through the windows of a Police bus said, “Our leaders are very wicked, poisonous food to eat, they don’t give us fine food, 3 days kenkey, they feed us with 4 days kenkey to eat, 3 people 1 sardine to share, twice in a day, condemned food, even a dead person will not eat that food”.

Another protester was heard still protesting despite his current predicament he shouted reiterating their goal for the protest, “End galamsey now, what we are saying is end galamsey”.
