The GES  indicated that all first-year students for single track and transitional schools, as well as all continuing students in single track schools, will report on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

This means that prospective students who are waiting for their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results and SHS placement are expected to begin school on October 30, 2024.

In an earlier publication, this portal disclosed that students who are currently in SHS1 and SHS2 and are in school will vacate on 28th October to end their 2023-2024 academic year and then reopen the next day to start their term 1 or semester 1 of the 2024-2025 academic year. All students in SHS1 and 2 will be promoted automatically.

The will also not go home but start the new academic year and be in school until they vacate in December, 2024.

The GES explained that the change in re-opening dates is to ensure that the school calendar starts in September in 2024.
