The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has claimed that 1.3 million basic school children do not have furniture in Ghana.
Speaking on a campaign tour John Mahama noted that then-running mate Dr. Bawumia used to go around and take pictures of school children without furniture during his government and donate to them, today 1.3 million do not have furniture while he is in government.
He said, “Today 1.3 million basic school children have no furniture, during NDC time he will visit and donate furniture to the school, today 1.3 million basic schools in Ghana have no furniture and he is in charge of the budget today he doesn’t even need to use his own pocket money to donate that furniture, he can take it from the budget and buy furniture for those children, why is he not doing so? ”.
John Mahama further went on to throw a challenge to Dr. Bawumia to provide furniture to some 1 million pupils.
“I challenge him to visit the schools in Upper West that do not have furniture, and he should provide them with furniture like he was doing when he was in opposition” John Mahama challenged.
