Addressing critics, Animwaa emphatically stated, “You’re a wicked man if you think GHS12k for a wedding wig is too much,” adding fuel to an already heated discussion on the cost of bridal beauty and luxury in Ghana.

According to her, before marrying someone, you should know the person well enough to know what makes him or he happy and things that are important to him or her.

“If I’m dating you, you know that when it comes to my looks I take it serious. I’m not big on a big wedding, for someone like me I can probably get married and have like 30 guests but the most important aspect which is my looks is what I won’t joke with”.

“So if I’m sparing you extra cash in areas where you don’t have to spend in that area and you know that I love how I present myself or how I look and within three years you know very well what makes me happy and you can look me dead in my face on my big day and tell me GHS12,000 for hair and makeup is too much I think you’re a wicked man” she stated emphatically using herself as an example.

The price of wedding wigs has become a topic of conversation in recent times as brides are increasingly seeking premium hairpieces for their big day. With the rise of high-quality lace wigs, especially those made from virgin human hair, many brides are willing to spend considerable amounts of money to look perfect.

Animwaa believes that such wigs are not just about aesthetics but also about quality and confidence.

She explained that these wigs, often handmade from high-grade human hair, can last for years and are versatile enough to be used long after the wedding day.

“This isn’t just hair; it’s an investment,” she said. “When a bride walks down the aisle, she deserves to feel like a queen, and if a GHS12k wig helps her do that, who are we to complain?”

Her statement however, has been met with a mixed reaction on social media. Some users supported her stance, agreeing that brides should not be judged for wanting to invest in luxury.

Others, on the contrary argued that the price was absurd especially in a country where many people struggle with daily living expenses.

Critics suggested that the cost of a wedding wig should not be a priority in the grand scheme of marriage preparations.

However, Maame Animwaa quickly rebutted, stating that personal appearance is integral to the confidence and joy a bride feels on her wedding day.

Maame Animwaa’s remarks reflect this growing trend, where beauty and self-confidence are becoming key aspects of wedding celebrations.

She believes that, the price tag on a wig is a small cost for the lifelong memories and satisfaction it brings to the bride.
