A man dressed in white who was arrested together with some protester of Democracy Hub has alleged that he was picked up on his way back from mass.
On Sunday, 22nd September, chaos broke out between Democracy Hub protesters and the Ghana Police Service during the second day of the protest leading to the arrest of about 42 protesters of the Democracy Hub.
In a video that has gone viral, the alleged suspect, detained by police, shouted repeatedly, I was coming back from Mass, does this dress look like a protest dress to you, you gave me the same charges, God will Judge you people. I was arrested on my way back from church!”
The man dress in white cursed the police men saying, “Una go die one by one, Una go die one by one”.
In court Lawyers for the arrested protesters told the court they did not know why their clients have been arrested.
The demonstrators have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, specifically unlawful assembly.
