According to reports, this denial comes as a result of a scheduling conflict.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) following this denial will have to immediately find an alternative for the Ghana-Sudan match slated for October 7, 2024.

Ghana is currently without a stadium fit to host a CAF category 3 game after the ban on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium which was the only certified facility to host a Black Stars game.

Until the Baba Yara Stadium is back to code, the Black Stars will play all home games in the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on a neutral ground outside Ghana.

Meanwhile, the National Sports Authority has announced the closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium to make way for maintenance before CAF’s inspection team arrives.
