Broadcaster Bridget Otoo has revealed that the Ghana Police Service has arrested one person who was buying ‘papaya’ for the protesters.

It has been alleged by one X user that the Ghana Police service has claimed that they bought papaye for the protesters.

Bridget Otoo in a post on her official X page the broadcaster stated, “ The person who was buying the “Papaye” for the protestors was picked up by police! He didn’t participate in the protest … You believe Ghana Police Service at your peril”.

Legal representative for the Democracy Hub protesters Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has however questioned the Ghana Police service ability to buy Papaye for the accused person, he said, “Who in the police service has money to buy Papaye for accused persons?”.

The Ghana Police Service has arrested 54 protesters charged with conspiracy to commit a crime are currently in remand waiting for their court hearing.
