Ghanaian broadcast journalist and devout NPP supporter, Okatakyie Kwame Afrifa, has turned his back on his party, the New Patriotic Party, as he has seemingly had enough of their gimmicks.

During an episode of his show on TV XYZ, ‘Abranaa So’, Afrifa emphatically stated, “The day Akufo-Addo and his family will exit the office will be the second time Ghana is getting independence”, and repeated himself a second time.

According to Kwame Afrifa, “These people have minds like Queen Elizabeth and the white people. They believe they are first class citizens and they are more sensible than every other Ghanaian. They believe their ancestors were the ones who sat down with Queen Elizabeth to write laws”.

He further championed, “We need a second independence from these people and we are going to do everything possible for them to lose power. They should never get anywhere close to power in this country”.

The NPP government, under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been in power for eight years, and are continually campaigning to retain the presidential seat in their camp in the coming December elections.

However, many Ghanaians have expressed their dissatisfaction in the way the NPP has led affairs in Ghana, judging from the inflation rates, persistence in the issue of lack of jobs, and failed or unfulfilled promises from their campaign in 2020.
