A tragic incident unfolded in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region when armed robbers launched an ambush on a police patrol team. The attack, which took place in the early hours of September 28, 2024, claimed the life of one officer, while two others were severely injured.

The officer who lost his life, identified as Evans, was part of the Dunkwa Divisional Police Headquarters Armory. The robbery occurred during the team’s routine patrol between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. The injured officers were immediately rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for critical medical treatment.

As of now, the police have not released an official statement on the incident, and the robbers remain at large. Authorities are currently pursuing leads to track down the suspects responsible for the attack.
