Celebrated for his spiritual leadership and pivotal role in the unification and growth of the Ashanti Kingdom.
However the decoration of his statue with the NPP flag has sparked controversy on X (formerly Twitter).

Many view the act as trying to politicize a well-loved historical monument, which has been traditionally regarded as a symbol of national heritage and not political allegiance.

Reactions on social media have been deeply polarized. Supporters of the NPP have defended the act, contending that it serves as a tribute to the party’s accomplishments and its contributions to national development.

Critics, however, have voiced their discontent, calling for the removal of the party colors from the statue. They contend that politicizing such symbols diminishes the respect and reverence they elicit.
