In a recent episode of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, broadcast journalist Paul Adom-Otchere stated that the NPP is very worried about disunity within the party going into the 2024 elections.

Speaking on the show, he explained that both the NDC and the NPP are revisiting the 2008 elections, with both parties looking at what went wrong during that period. One of the key issues that hurt the NPP in 2008 was internal disunity, he noted.

Adom-Otchere emphasized that the level of seriousness in the Bawumia campaign is evident, as they are prioritizing the issue of party unity. “The effort to deconstruct the disunity within the party is a major focus, and it has become a document on its own,” he said.

The Bawumia campaign team expects that by one month before the election, they will have reduced the number of independent candidates as much as possible. He added that disunity was a major factor in the NPP’s loss in 2008, but now they are working hard to maintain party unity.

Paul Adom-Otchere added that Chairman Wontumi deserves appreciation for his efforts in promoting unity within the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
