The resident of Effutu have rejected the NDC presidential candidate John Mahama as a second-hand president preferring a tear rubber president Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a post on social media X, on he Bawumia Campaign 2024 official page the resident could be heard shouting they will not vote for a ‘second-hand’ president, they want a brand-new ‘tear rubber’ president.
Meanwhile, Dr. Bawumia during a Youth Connect programme stated, “We are going to elect a new president in December 2024. When I say a new president, I mean a new president and not a second-hand president.”
John Dramani Mahama has since responded to Dr. Bawumia tagging him as a second-hand president, saying, “The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party says he would be a tear-rubber president while I would be a second-hand president. I have a farm in the northern part of the country. I have two tractors, one is a Ford model that is automatic, and the other is manual but old.
“The old one is more efficient than the new one. So, if they say I am a second-hand president, it is fine. I have experience,” he reiterated at durbar at Nyankontere in the Bono East Region.
