The Winneba Divisional Commander ACP Jeffrey Darko, has been accused of intimidating members of the NDC in the Effutu Constituency
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region in a statement signed by the Central Regional Communications Officer Gabriella Tetteh voiced serious concerns over rising tensions in the Effutu Constituency, which is impacting the morale of party members.
The NDC is accusing ACP Darko of selective justice and intimidation, which have reached alarming levels.
The NDC claims that ACP Darko has been actively undermining their campaign efforts at the behest of local officials, including MP Afenyo Markins and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
Just two weeks ago, despite numerous reports from party members regarding vandalism of NDC billboards, ACP Darko allegedly chose to provide protection for MP Afenyo’s campaign materials instead. This blatant disregard for the destruction of the NDC’s promotional items has not gone unnoticed.

In a strongly worded statement, the NDC announced,“This intimidation will not be tolerated any longer.” They are calling for immediate intervention from the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to address what they describe as a growing pattern of intimidation and bias.

In light of these developments, the NDC has pledged to monitor the situation closely and take appropriate action to defend their rights and the integrity of their campaign. As the elections draw nearer, the party urges local authorities to ensure an equitable environment where all candidates can campaign freely and safely.
