National Cathedral project to resume – Board

The chairman of the Board of National Cathedral project Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah has revealed that works on the project is set to be resume after an audit report was completed.

The board has authorized an audit be done after some allegations of corruptions were made regarding the project.  The audit was carried out by Deloitte Ghana to bring transparency to the issue.

In a statement on September 24, the Apostle stated, “The need for an audit was a key demand by church leadership and Ghanaians to establish the credibility of the project’s implementation. With the completion of this first report, preparations are underway for construction to resume”.

Prof. Opoku Onyinah further called for financial aid and prayer for the project from Ghanaians.

The National Cathedral was suspended in 2022 due to financial constraints, it is estimated that the project requires $450 million to complete.
