My govt will digitalize the agriculture sector to enhance food security- Bawumia assures

Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has announced that his government will prioritize agriculture and enhance food security.

Addressing stakeholders in Ada, the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia disclosed that he will make this happen by supporting farmers to adopt mechanized farming.

According to him, his government will pay attention, invest and digitize the agricultural sector to improve it.

He emphasized on the need for the agricultural sector to be improved and invested in to improve the lives of the farmers and also to promote food security.

“Any government has to pay a lot of attention to this sector in our economy. 60% of population from north, south, and west are engaged in agriculture so, this is why i want to focus to bring technology to our agricultural sector” he said.

He stated that his government will bring credit and loans to farmers so they can expand their production to make sure they can obtain the implements and equipments that will allow them do farming on a large scale basis so Ghana can bring food prices down and ensure food security.
