Renowned Journalist Erastus Asare of Joy news has uncovered galamsey activity near Manso Amenfi D/A basic school park.

In a video posted on social media platform X, Erastus Asare Donkor said, “this is the Amenfi D/A basic school, this is the school park I’m standing on, just a few meters from the school illegal mining (galamsey) activities are going on.

Erastus in trying to find out from the illegal miners why they are mining close to the school, indicated the owner of the site stated to him they have been given permission by leaders of the community to mine close to the school.

He added that the illegal miner claimed they were told to distill the stream and by doing so he needed funds, so he is doing galamsey to raise funds to do the job given to him.

In recent weeks galamsey activities have dominated the discussion in the country, with river bodies being left in a devastating state by illegal miners.
