for Builsa South, Clement Apaak expressed disgust about happenings at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) following true claims of the resignation of ECG boss, Samuel Dubik Mahama surfacing.
Minutes before the resignation of Dubik Mahama was made public, John Jinapor, a Ranking Member on the Energy Committee of Parliament disclosed the ECG boss was being removed from office because he refused to kowtow to a cabal made up of President Akufo-Addo’s relatives who sought to lead the $40m purchase of light crude for the power sector, when it was the mandate of the Volta River Authority (VRA) to do so.
Appearing on Metro TV with Randy Abbey, Clement Apaak sharing his take on the matter said, “When we think the situation cannot be any worse than it is, in reference to the affairs of the republic of Ghana. Then you wake up to something of this magnitude. How is this possible? How can this be happening. In a country that has a gov’t and institutions.”
According to Clement Apaak, the narrations given by the John Jinapor, makes it clear that the cabal is profiting at the expense of Ghanaians. “I mean ECG, we all remember the fiasco to do with PDS which cost us $190m, and to think that after that debacle under the auspices of the vice president. We are today confronted with such stark evidence which with all intents and all purposes can be perceived as high-level corruption where the people of Ghana are being dupped by people who have a mandate to protect and enhance out conditions of living,” he added.
He indicated that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) it is possible slogan means every untoward act which contributes to the nation’s woes is “indeed possible. This is terrible. There is no other way to put it.”
