Government’s efforts to convince Organized Labour to end strike hits a rock as requests for second round of talks are rejected

Organised Labour has rejected requests for a second round of talks with government’s adhoc committee on illegal mining.

This follows accusation of bribery in the aftermath of the first meeting between the ministerial committee set up by President Akuffo Addo led by national security minister Albert Kan dapaah.

According to General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Thomas Musah, another meeting with committee is unnecessary since all demands including a ban on mining, and a declaration of a state of emergency are yet to be implemented before the September 30 deadline
