A shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has hit Accra.

In an interview with Channel One News, Vice President of the LPG Marketers Association (LPGMA), Gabriel Kumi, alerted that the situation could worsen soon.

He said, “My checks this morning indicate that about 70% of LPG outlets in the Greater Accra Metropolis have run out of gas. If the situation does not improve, this could rise to about 80% and if the situation is not averted, by close of tomorrow, we expect all LPG stations in Greater Accra to run out of gas,” said a representative of the LPGMA.

In Accra some gas stations are already displaying “No Gas” signs, with buyers already frustrated.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA), has nonetheless disputed these assertions, stating that the issue has been solved.
