Broadcast Journalist Bridget Otoo has alleged that renowned New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is the defender of Galamsey companies.
According to Bridget Otoo who referenced section of Professor Frimpong Boateng’s report on galamsey stated emphatically on her X page saying, “Gabby Otchere Darko-Defender of Galamsey companies”.
In Professor Frimpong Boateng report it is alleged that Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere Darko called to defend a company engaged in illegal mining popular known as galamsey.
Portion of the report read, “What saddened me most was when Mr Gabby Asare Otchere Darko called to defend a company that was actively destroying the environment, especially the forest and River Offin in the Apaprama and Kobro Forests”.
The post further referring to the report also added that they were about to dislodge Imperial Heritage from Kobro forest when Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere- Darko called to inform Prof. Frimpong Boateng he was the lawyer for them.
The broadcaster further stated that the Minister of Environment Abu Jinapor has ignore directives to halt the issuance of licenses through the minerals commission, and further alleged that the military are providing security for the galamsey site.
