Despite efforts by the Ghanaian government to extradite former MASLOC Chief Executive, Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, she remains elusive as authorities continue to pursue her return to serve a 10-year prison sentence. Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah confirmed that although Attionu is believed to be residing in the United States, the process of bringing her back to Ghana has proven challenging.

In an interview on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Tuah-Yeboah explained that the government is working with U.S. authorities to track her down and complete the extradition process. “We know where she is, and we are collaborating with our international partners. However, the extradition process is lengthy, and while we are filing the necessary documentation, she remains out of reach for now,” he noted.

Attionu was convicted by the Accra High Court in April 2024 for stealing, procurement breaches, and causing a GH¢90 million financial loss to the state. Although steps were initiated shortly after her conviction to have her extradited, she continues to evade capture.

Her elusive status has raised concerns, given the severity of the charges she faces. Along with former MASLOC Operations Manager Daniel Axim, she was charged with 78 counts, including money laundering and causing financial loss to the state. Authorities remain determined, however, to bring her to justice and ensure she serves her sentence in Ghana.
