The probe will begin on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

Mustapha Ussif, Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports is scheduled to appear before the committee and answer questions on the team’s (Black Stars) preparations and other expenditures going into and during the AFCON.

The committee will be led by Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Wisdom Kobina Woyome, with the committee seeking clarity on Ghana spending over $3 million in a period of 11 days.

“The aim of the probe is to get a fundamental understanding of the issues that have led us to this point. To interrogate the individual decisions and conducts that may in one way or the other have affected our Black Stars,” Kobina Woyome told JoySports.

Ghana are seeking their first continental football title for over four decades at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite often boasting some of Africa’s most talented players, Ghana performed abysmally in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2023 hosted in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Black Stars were kicked out of the 2023 AFCON after coming third in their group with 2 points, an unimpressive run by the team.
