This inspection exercise forms part of a process to possibly approve the stadiums to hast category C matches.

Per reports, CAF inspectors visited Ghana during the weekend to evaluate the Accra and Cape Coast stadiums, and their suitability to host CAF matches, especially the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana is now without a pitch to host category C matches as the Baba Yara Stadium’s license to host category C games due to its substandard playing surface was revoked.

Ghana currently has to find alternative playing fields for its AFCON qualifiers, which in this case has to be in its neighboring countries.

The Togolese federation has already rejected Ghana’s request to play its home games in Lome.

If CAF approves the Accra and Cape Coast Stadia, Ghana will no longer suffer more embarrassment and get to play its home games in front of Ghanaians.
