The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has boldly stated the elephant needs to go back to the bush for the NDC to come repair the mess it created.
Speaking to some residents on a Campaign tour, John Mahama noted the finance minister lied to Ghanaians when he revealed that the country has successfully entered back into the international capital.
John Mahama said, “Our financial situation is about the crisis we face, it is about the debts we face, recently I saw the Minister of Finance say they have successfully entered back into the international capital, but that was a lie, what has happened is we now have finished the debt restructuring and we are expected to start paying the restructured debts”.
John Mahama also revealed that “we were not servicing any debts and so even in a situation where we are not servicing debts the cedi continues to lose value to the dollar and other international currency that is the situation in which the NPP has plunged this country”.
“The NPP must go into opposition, that is why the elephant must go into the bush so that the NDC can come back and repair the mess they have created”, John Mahama reiterated.
Mahama further revealed that the NPP inherited a very promising economy, two new additional oil wealth with additional production of 100,000 barrels a day, and all the funds left by his administration,
He detailed that the NPP only needed to do was to build on it to create a better life for Ghanaians, but they intended to plunge the country for only a few families and friends.
