The Head of Research at the Kumasi Technical University, Professor Smart Sarpong has predicted a runoff in the 2024 presidential elections.
According to Professor Smart Sarpong’s poll, the NPP retains the parliamentary majority with Dr. Bawumia leading with 49.1% and John Mahama 45.8%.
Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Professor Smart Sarpong stated, “In fact, I wish that they work very hard to spare us the stress we go through if we had to do a run-off, and I am sure it will not be difficult for the leader 49.1 to cross to 50% mark, neither is it going to be difficult for the second place, 45.8 to cross 50% mark”.
“What is difficult is the remaining from where they are trying to cross the 50% marks, I wish them well”, he added.
Another pollster, Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has predicted a first-round victory for NDC’s John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 presidential election.
According to Mussa Dankwah, the NDC will win the December polls and form the majority in the ninth parliament in Ghana.
