Rev. Ernest Adu Gyamfi, Chairman of the National Peace Council, has announced plans to expand the council’s peace initiatives ahead of upcoming elections.
The council is working on extending the peace pact to 25 additional constituencies, in addition to the national peace agreement already in place.
These constituencies have been identified as potential hotspots for election-related violence, where tensions may rise during the election period.
In his statement, Rev. Adu Gyamfi emphasized that the peace pact process involves a significant effort to bring all political parties on board.
He acknowledged that securing the commitment of all parties takes time, but the council remains dedicated to ensuring broad participation to promote peace and prevent electoral violence.
