155 Ghanaian nurses have relocated to Barbados as part of the two countries’ ongoing health partnership.
The third cohort of 155 Ghanaian nurses was made up of accident nurses, emergency theatre, cardiac trainee nurses mental health nurses, and other areas.
According to a Ghanaian Nurse who spoke to the Barbados official Ghana has so many nurses who are not employed so for Barbados to employ some of the Ghanaian nurses is very incredible and believe that while they are here, they would deliver.
Ghana and Barbados started an ongoing health partnership in 2020, in 2020 95 nurses arrived, and in 2022 another 120 Ghanaian nurses moved to Barbados.
The move seeks to help reduce the number of unemployed nurses in Ghana by exporting trained personnel to countries with a deficit in health professionals.
